Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Glasgow to lead electrical EPC/ICP designs from concept to completion. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients, contractors and network operators across major renewable energy and grid projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years' experience in electrical design within utilities, power or renewable energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK Grid Code, electrical design standards and DNO requirements.
• Experience using power system modelling software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSCAD.
• Excellent leadership, communication and multitasking abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical EPC and ICP designs from concept through to detailed design.
• Act as the technical authority for electrical engineering across multiple projects.
• Carry out and review electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, dynamic system and grid compliance studies.
• Produce and review high–quality electrical design documentation and calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Grid Code, relevant standards and client specifications.
• Support tender submissions, procurement activities and project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and network operators throughout project delivery.
• Assist with resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
