Job summary

Babcock International in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Communication Systems to provide system stewardship across a portfolio of critical assets. You will work with operations teams, project engineers and suppliers to ensure performance, reliability and future capability requirements are understood and managed.

This full-time, hybrid role at Devonport Royal Dockyard requires SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in communication systems, electrical/electronic engineering, systems engineering or related discipline.
• Experience supporting or managing complex engineering assets within an operational environment.
• Understanding of asset stewardship, lifecycle management and critical infrastructure challenges.
• Experience identifying and managing technical risks, obsolescence and future capability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the System Steward for critical communication systems, maintaining knowledge of capability, performance and operational requirements.
• Developing lifecycle strategies, reference designs and asset management plans to support through-life capability.
• Monitoring asset health, resilience and obsolescence risks while identifying future investment opportunities.
• Providing engineering expertise and recommendations to support technical and business decision-making.
• Leading engagement with stakeholders, project teams and suppliers while supporting the future integration of communication network infrastructure into the portfolio
