Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support wastewater projects across the UK water sector. This long-term contract role is remote with UK-based travel occasionally and pays 45–50 per hour inside or outside IR35 subject to assessment.

You will design electrical systems for wastewater and non-infrastructure projects, produce calculations and reports, develop LV diagrams and control philosophies, and collaborate with mechanical, process and civil teams throughout the project

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience in UK water sector.
• Experience with wastewater/non-infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of LV systems, motors and instrumentation.
• Proven ability to produce electrical design documentation to standards.
• Exposure to AMP frameworks.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Water (Contract)

We are supporting a leading engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support a growing portfolio of wastewater projects across the UK water sector.

The Role

• Electrical design across wastewater treatment and non–infrastructure projects
• Producing calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Developing LV electrical designs, single line diagrams and control philosophies
• Supporting design reviews, HAZOPs and technical/client meetings
• Working closely with mechanical, process and civil engineering disciplines
• Supporting MEICA integration throughout the project lifecycle

About You

• Previous electrical design experience within the UK water sector
• Experience working on wastewater/non–infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of LV systems, motors and instrumentation
• Experience producing electrical design documentation to industry standards
• Previous exposure to AMP frameworks
• Ability to work effectively within a consultancy and multidisciplinary environment
• UK–based with flexibility to attend occasional site/client meetings

Contract Details

• Rate: 45– 50 per hour, dependent on experience
• IR35: Inside or Outside IR35, subject to assessment
• Location: Remote working with occasional site/client travel
• Duration: Long–term contract opportunity
• Start: Immediate or short notice preferred
