Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities across multiple projects, ensuring high technical standards and full regulatory compliance.
• Attend and contribute to design team meetings, liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility assessments, and prepare technical reports.
• Develop detailed design schemes and technical documentation to enable competitive tendering.
• Prepare specifications, calculations, and budget estimates.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and design team members.
• Review tender submissions, contractor drawings, and provide technical commentary.
• Respond to contractor queries during installation and construction stages.
• Attend site progress meetings and monitor progress against programme.
• Produce snag lists and oversee testing and commissioning activities.
• Support financial aspects by contributing to valuations and contractor claims.
• Identify opportunities to expand services with existing or new clients.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate electrical design staff.

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical design delivery across a variety of building and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities across multiple projects, ensuring high technical standards and full compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CIBSE and statutory requirements).
• Attend and contribute to design team meetings, liaising confidently with clients, contractors, and wider stakeholders.
• Conduct site and condition surveys, feasibility assessments, and produce associated technical reports.
• Develop detailed design schemes and technical documentation to enable competitive tendering.
• Prepare specifications, calculations (manual and software-based), and budget estimates.
• Provide technical correspondence and guidance to clients and fellow design team members.
• Review tender submissions, contractor working drawings, and provide technical commentary.
• Respond to contractor queries throughout installation and construction stages.
• Attend site progress meetings, monitor workmanship and materials, and track progress against programme.
• Produce snagging lists and oversee final testing and commissioning activities.
• Support financial aspects of project delivery by contributing to valuations, reviewing contractor claims, and assisting with final account agreements.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing or new clients.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior and intermediate electrical design staff, communicating any training needs to senior management.
