Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Leeds

Salary: To c£60k neg dep exp + benefits

Our client is part of a group that has been established for almost 200 years and employs more than 5,500 staff globally. They specialize in a range of bespoke heavier engineering and materials handling activities for diverse applications. Due to continued success and ongoing strategic growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their successful electrical engineering team at their Leeds office.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will undertake duties including:

1. Developing designs and specifications for control systems across the product portfolio.
2. Coordinating site, application, and design engineering resources to meet project technical requirements.
3. Ensuring effective interfacing between design, production, procurement, and installation and commissioning teams to optimize project costs and implementation.
4. Developing a working understanding of applicable industry standards.
5. Managing the technical content of projects regarding cost, quality, contract documentation, and specifications, ensuring projects stay within budget (including design hours, outsourcing, site labor, etc.).
6. Attending customer sites and liaising with customer engineering representatives as required.

To be considered for this role, candidates should ideally be qualified to degree level or above in Electrical Engineering (or comparable qualifications) and have at least 5 years of previous electrical design experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive design engineering experience in a drawing office environment, proven project management skills, excellent communication skills at all levels, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2020 (or equivalent) and knowledge of low voltage motor speed control applications are highly advantageous.
