Senior Design Engineer

Alfen Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively with a leading innovator in electronic systems, seeking a talented Senior Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting–edge projects, developing and designing advanced electronic modules and PCBs for high–performance products.

Your Mission:

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, testing, and optimising electronic circuits both analog and digital while collaborating closely with internal teams to bring concepts from design to high–volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and test electronic modules and PCBs.
• Create detailed circuit diagrams aligned with product requirements.
• Lead analog design efforts, including amplifiers, filters, and power electronics.
• Drive digital design projects, covering high–speed communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, USB, Ethernet), timers, counters, ADCs, and FPGAs.
• FPGA design and development a core focus of this role.
• Perform mixed–signal simulations, analysis, and fault–finding to refine designs.
• Prototype, verify, and troubleshoot electronic systems.
• Prepare technical documentation: test plans, reports, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Support production testing and engineering change management.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to take concepts from design to delivery.
• Continuously enhance design skills and share knowledge with the team.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience in analog and digital circuit design and development.
• Strong expertise in FPGA design essential.
• Proficient in high–speed communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, USB, Ethernet).
• Hands–on experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
• Skilled in circuit simulation, PCB layout, and prototyping.
• Familiarity with design tools like Altium.
• Strong analytical and problem–solving abilities.
