Job summary

Search in City of Westminster is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical building services design across commercial, residential and education projects from concept to completion.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with mechanical engineers, architects and contractors, managing design stages to ensure on-time delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering commercial, residential, and education projects.
• Proficient with Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD and Revit.

• Produce and review detailed electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who can lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients across a diverse portfolio of developments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions across a range of commercial, residential, and education sector projects, from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on a variety of projects.
• Produce and review detailed electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• Manage projects through all design stages, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, contractors, and external consultants.

• Support and mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
• Ensure compliance with current industry regulations, standards, and best practices

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience working within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Strong background delivering commercial, residential, and education projects.
• Proficient with industry software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and supporting junior team members.
• Working towards or already holding Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
