We are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience

Job type: Full time and Permanent

About The Role

This opportunity has arisen from our ongoing success and growth in the renewable energy sector. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

As part of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of designs within agreed timeframes in line with Powersystems' strategy.

Joining Powersystems as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer means helping to shape the future of clean energy. In return, well support your development with qualifications and professional memberships.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Deliver designs within agreed timeframes and to a high quality.
• Manage multiple design projects and prioritise deadlines.
• Provide technical support and mentoring for junior engineers.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project engineers.
• Attend design and project co-ordination meetings.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM and Health and Safety regulations.
• Prepare design packages for DNO contestable works and private works (11kV to 132kV).
• Work with CAD team to generate drawings and plans.
• Produce AC/DC schematics for protection, control, and SCADA panels.
• Select cables and design cable routes using CYMCAP and Amtech.
• Prepare multicore cable schedules.
• Review and manage simulation studies for generation connections.
• Attend sites for inspection and design purposes.
• Uphold a professional image and contribute to Powersystems' success.
• Demonstrate the Companys core Principles: Health, Safety and Well-being, Professionalism, Pride, Partnership, and Proactive.
  
  

What You Need To Be Successful

• Experience of high voltage electrical engineering design (11kV and above).
• HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong organisational, time management, IT, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
• Full UK driving licence.
  
  

Desirable Criteria

• Higher degree or postgraduate qualification in power systems.
• Professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Adaptability, resilience, and proactive approach.
