Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Belfast seeks a Senior Associate Electrical & Control Engineer to lead electrical and control design across water projects. You will work on distribution, SCADA, generation systems, cabling, and instrumentation, mentoring engineers and ensuring designs meet standards.

Hybrid working supports collaboration with clients and contractors. Qualified by HND or higher in electrical/electronic/control engineering and chartered with IET, you bring water sector experience and strong

Qualifications

• HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Experience in water and/or wastewater industry.
• Knowledge of pipeline hydraulics and water/wastewater treatment processes.
• Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Electrical power distribution design (LV & HV).
• Design and specification of communications networks and SCADA.
• Specifying renewable and back-up generation systems.
• Cabling and installation design.
• Instrumentation selection.
• Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment.
• Mentoring to other electrical engineers and providing technical direction.
• Ensure designs meet current legislation and standards.
• Integrate electrical & control with other disciplines.
