Job summary

Mercury is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager in Ferrybridge, U.K. to lead complex electrical construction projects, ensuring safety, QA, and efficient cost management.

You will guide the Mercury engineering team, coordinate subcontractors, and drive program delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Responsibilities include managing site operations, reporting progress, and overseeing documentation such as Final Accounts and manuals.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or recognised trade qualification.
• 10+ years’ experience managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical packages.
• Flexible working patterns as required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety, QA, and project planning with the Mercury team.
• Manage and track costs across labour, materials, plant, and variations.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations and subcontractor activities.
• Coordinate weekly meetings and ensure timely reporting and snag closure.
• Provide safety and quality leadership across Mercury projects.
• Ensure documentation including Final Accounts and manuals is completed.
