Job summary

Mercury is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for Ferrybridge, UK. You will lead site safety, QA, scheduling, cost tracking, and day-to-day site operations while coordinating with Mercury project teams and subcontractors.

The role requires an engineering degree or recognised trade qualification, 10+ years of large construction project experience, strong leadership and communication, and thorough knowledge of electrical packages. You will drive safety and quality on Mercury projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or trade qualification is required.
• 10+ years’ experience managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical packages.
• Flexibility in working patterns.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Manage site safety with the Mercury Safety Advisor and maintain the safety file.
• Oversee site QA with the Mercury QA Manager and close out QA files.
• Coordinate and manage the project schedule with the project team.
• Track all project costs including labour, materials, plant, variations and valuations.
• Directly manage Mercury engineering project team and align discipline leads.
• Supervise sub-contractor activities and hold weekly progress meetings.
• Maintain the In Progress snagging system and weekly punch lists.
• Ensure weekly labour and subcontractor hours are reported for central tracking.
• Attend site meetings, reviews, planning, coordination and handover meetings.
• Assist with final accounts, O&M manuals, punch lists and safety/QA files close-out.
