Job summary

Matchtech in Warrington seeks a Senior Electrical Cable Engineer to support the SMR programme in a nuclear regulated environment. Based in Warrington, you will manage datasets, perform design calculations, and ensure integration with MEP modules for modular delivery.

You will verify HV/LV networks, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to regulatory reports while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience across the electrical system lifecycle in a highly regulated industry.
• Nuclear background desirable; Defence/Aerospace/Rail/Marine/Oil & Gas valued.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV and MV power networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and quality-check electrical datasets including load and cable schedules.
• Perform design calculations for electrical distribution networks including cable sizing and protection coordination.
• Integrate MEP modules to support factory‑fabricated modular delivery.
• Formulate verification plans and assess evidence for HV/LV power networks, transformers, and cable routing.
• Interface with Mechanical, Civil, C&I, Safety and Supply Chain teams to resolve design changes.
• Author technical reports for regulatory engagement and mentor junior engineers.
