Job summary

WSP in Leeds is recruiting a Principal Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineer to lead EICA design for water infrastructure projects. You will deliver technical specs, review tenders, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires IET-accredited engineering, Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, and extensive EICA experience with strong client-facing capabilities. Hybrid working and site-focused travel are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering, or HND with substantial experience.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer registration with Engineering Council.
• Extensive EICA design experience for water infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations.
• Strong client-facing, collaborative, and travel-ready attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review technical specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules and control philosophies.
• Review tender evaluations and contribute to proposals and work scoping.
• Engage with installations related to DSEAR and ICA equipment, including testing and commissioning.
• Attend factory acceptance tests for panels, PLC/HMI and SCADA, mentoring junior staff.
