Job summary

Quaker Houghton in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Environmental Health Safety Specialist to lead EHS across the UK and Ireland, supporting 40 sites with a remote-based, travel-heavy role. You will drive safety culture, implement EHS programs, lead investigations, audits, and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, collaborating with HR and Operations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Environmental, Health & Safety in industrial environments.
• Multi-site experience with audits, investigations and compliance assessments.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS technical expert across UK scope, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Implement and enhance EHS programs, policies and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Lead investigations of incidents, near misses and hazards with CAPA actions.
• Monitor EHS performance, trends and leading indicators for improvements.
• Support EHS management systems and software, ensuring compliance and reporting.
• Provide guidance on occupational health, industrial hygiene and exposure management.
• Maintain EHS systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance.
• Deliver EHS training and competency programs for staff inductions and refreshers.
• Conduct EHS audits, inspections and compliance assessments across locations.
