Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Educational Psychology Service is seeking a Senior Educational Psychologist to lead strategic development and oversee the Experts at Hand model, while contributing to system-wide improvement across education, health and care.

You will provide line management, supervision and professional support to EPs and trainees, maintain direct practice with children aged 0-25, and shape service delivery at county level.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as an Educational Psychologist with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading service improvement and multi‑agency partnership work.
• Strong communication, coaching and supervision skills for professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead a designated area of strategic development within the Educational Psychology Service.
• Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing development of the Experts at Hand model.
• Lead and support service improvement projects enhancing the Educational Psychology contribution across education, health and care systems.
• Supervise Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists.
• Line manage Assistant Educational Psychologists.
• Provide high-quality psychological consultation, assessment and intervention for 0–25 year-olds.
• Build partnerships across education, health and social care to improve outcomes.
• Contribute to strategic planning, quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
• Represent Educational Psychology within local, regional and national networks.
