Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a Senior Educational Psychologist to lead one Experts at Hand locality hub and shape EP practice across the service. You’ll recruit, induct and supervise staff, while maintaining a proportion of your own practice and supporting policy development.

The role requires HCPC registration, a degree in psychology and a postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology, with experience in statutory work and leadership within an EP service. Hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in psychology (or equivalent).
• Postgraduate qualification in educational psychology.
• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist (educational).
• Experience leading within an educational psychology service and supervising others.
• Experience delivering high-quality statutory psychological services to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead one Experts at Hand locality hub and provide EP leadership within the team.
• Lead recruitment, induction, supervision and CPD across the EP team.
• Line manage EPs and the Specialist Provision Support Team Leader.
• Manage statutory work allocation and EHC needs assessment timelines.
• Support development of Tier 1 and the post-16 offer of the service.
• Maintain your own EP practice while contributing to planning, policy and evaluation.
