Job summary

Wirral Council is seeking a Main Grade Educational Psychologist (Soulbury Scale A 5-10) to join our forward-thinking EP Service, delivering high-quality psychological services for children and young people (0-25) across diverse settings.

The role involves consultation, inclusion-driven service development, and collaboration with schools, other services, and universities. Flexible working and staged pay progression with up to 3 SPA points are on offer.

Qualifications

• Hold HCPC registration.
• Recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
• Understanding of SEND legislation and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Offer consultation to schools or settings to improve outcomes for children and young people.
• Contribute to inclusive practice and service development.
• Support inclusion by collaborating with other services and agencies.
• Contribute to the delivery of SEND reforms and the 'Expert at Hand' programme.
• Deliver high-quality psychological services to support CYP aged 0-25 across diverse settings.
• Provide psychological advice to the Local Authority.
• Participate in and deliver the EP service's training offer.
• Supervise and support Assistant EPs and ELSA colleagues.
• Support the development of Trainee EPs in partnership with universities.
