We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Senior Educational Psychologist (EP) to join our highly regarded, friendly, and supportive team of EPs. We work for a local authority that values respect, curiosity, kindness, and openness. Are you interested in applying psychology in a multidisciplinary locality team working in partnership with other senior educational psychologists to lead the educational psychologists? The Educational Psychology Service is highly regarded by schools/settings, parents/carers, and provides a valued service across the Local Authority.
‘Dorset Children Thrive’ is our locality model to deliver Children’s Services. It brings together services and support for children and families into four integrated locality teams. The teams include Family Help, Children’s Social Care, and Learning and Belonging. Educational psychologists are part of the Learning and Belonging strand within these multi-disciplinary teams.
Matrix management arrangements are in place, with each locality having a senior educational psychologist who is part of the local management team and the extended Children's Services Leadership Team.
Dorset EPs are creative, child-centred, and have excellent relationships with families, children, young people, education settings, social care, health colleagues, and each other.
Applicants should hold a postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology (Doctorate or Masters). A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified EP registered with HCPC is required, including some supervisory experience. An enhanced DBS check for adults and children is also necessary.
