Job summary

Newfield School in Blackburn, Lancashire, invites applications for Senior Education Health Care Assistants. You will support individuals and groups of pupils to access outcomes outlined in each EHCP, assisting with education, health, medical and general care needs.

A child-centred approach is essential, with training and development provided to support you in this rewarding role. Hours are 33.5 per week, 39 weeks per year during term-time, with shifts 8:30am to 3:30pm plus an extra hour weekly

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with education, health and care plans.
• Ability to promote effective communication using Makaton, PECS or similar.
• Committed to child-centred approach and willing to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and groups of pupils to access outcomes in their EHCP.
• Assist with education, health, medical, and general care needs as directed.
• Support classroom management and teacher with lesson delivery.
