Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced ecologist in Scotland to lead ornithological surveys and contribute to national infrastructure projects. You will plan field surveys, interpret results, and design mitigation with cross-disciplinary collaboration across a growing ecology team.

The role requires strong report writing, licence preparation, and a proactive approach to develop skills toward Chartership and professional growth within a flexible, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable ornithological survey experience aligned with CIEEM Competency Framework.
• Experience leading bird surveys and multi-season ornithological projects.
• Ability to coordinate protected species surveys and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Client-facing role supporting nationally important infrastructure projects.
• Plan field surveys, analyse results, design ecological mitigation.
• Prepare and check ecological reports and licence applications.
• Engage with other disciplines to cross-sell AtkinsRéalis' capabilities.
