Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking an experienced ecologist to join our ecology team. You will lead ecological assessments, shape habitat design for development and nature recovery projects, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across client engagements.

The role requires chartered status (or active progression) with experience on NSIP and DCO processes, strong project management, and the ability to win work through robust client relationships. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• Chartered through CIEEM, CEcol or CEnv, or actively pursuing chartered status.
• Experience with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) and the DCO process.
• Ability to advise on UKHab surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessment and Biodiversity Net Gain.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological assessments and habitat design for development and nature recovery projects.
• Review ecological reports and licence applications to ensure compliance.
• Develop bids and support client relationships to drive work-wins in the region.
• Mentor colleagues and manage ecology deliverables from bidding to completion.
