Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking an experienced Ecologist to support nationwide infrastructure projects, coordinating field surveys and ecological mitigation. You will contribute to environmental reporting, licensing, and policy engagements while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role offers flexible/hybrid working across the UK, with a strong emphasis on professional development and mentoring within a leading ecology practice. A full UK/EU driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or actively working towards this.
• Strong botanical skills, ideally Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) level 4 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation and related UK wildlife legislation.
• Proven ability in habitat surveys, HMMPs and ecological reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support on nationally important infrastructure projects across the UK.
• Plan and undertake field surveys, analyse and interpret results.
• Design and coordinate ecological mitigation and licensing work.
• Author ecological reports and licence applications; engage with other business areas.
