Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is looking for a Principal Ecologist to join our team to deliver high-impact ecological solutions throughout England. This role manages 6–10 projects, focusing on renewable energy, residential, and infrastructure developments, ensuring compliance with UK legislation.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecological assessments, project management, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to quality ecological work across major projects.

This is a hybrid role requiring some office-based work and travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of the UK planning system and environmental legislation relevant to the role.
• Competence in UK Habitat Classification and habitat condition assessments.
• Ability to design and complete a range of typical ecology surveys and interpret findings.

Responsibilities

• Manage an exciting portfolio of approximately 6 – 10 projects.
• Lead ecological inputs across various schemes, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
• Author and peer review ecological reports and lead stakeholder engagement.
