Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join the Nature Services team across Scotland and Ireland. You will work with a network of technical specialists to deliver a diverse project portfolio and support growth within the team.

You will engage in Phase 1/UKHab surveys, protected species assessments, and ecological reporting while mentoring colleagues and developing your expertise in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant academic qualification in ecology or a related subject.
• Proven ability to produce high quality ecological reports and deliverables.
• Experience with desk-based and field surveys across UK.
• Knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake ecology surveys including Phase 1/ UKHab habitat surveys and protected species surveys.
• Prepare reports and assessments such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments.
• Conduct client liaison, project management and regulatory consultations.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
• Participate in team meetings and national initiatives.
• Pursue professional development through formal training and on-the-job learning.
