Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join a growing, collaborative Ecology Team. You will conduct surveys, design mitigation, and contribute ecological input to multidisciplinary teams across the UK Water and infrastructure sectors.

You will mentor junior ecologists, enjoy autonomy with support from an experienced team, and travel as required. A minimum BSc in Ecology and a protected species licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc in Ecology or related environmental discipline.
• Solid consultancy experience with UK/EU wildlife legislation and policy.
• Protected species licence for at least one species (e.g., bats or great crested newts).
• Experience contributing to HRAs, PEAs, ECIs and ecological chapters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and assessments across a varied portfolio of projects.
• Design and implement mitigation and enhancement measures; apply for protected species licences.
• Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to training and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering and design teams to integrate ecological input.
