Job summary

Jacobs' UK Ecology Team is seeking a Senior Ecologist to support nationwide ecological deliverables across major infrastructure projects, with a mix of desk and site work. You will deliver high-quality assessments, design monitoring programmes and mentor junior staff.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain and environmental policy initiatives while pursuing professional accreditation and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in protected species survey and ECOW delivery on infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary ecological teams and mentor colleagues.
• Proven track record with EIA, HRA and Biodiversity Net Gain initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Current full driving licence and willingness to travel/site work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver ecological assessments for large infrastructure schemes.
• Design monitoring programmes and manage survey teams to ensure high-quality data.
• Provide expert ecological advice to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to integrate ecology into projects.
