Our client is a consultancy established in 2007, committed to growing and developing its people. They are passionate about making a real difference to sustainable development and environmental protection.

They have a wide range of projects, including large-scale renewable energy projects, major infrastructure, regeneration schemes, large wind and solar farms, and small housing developments.

Your new role

The main responsibilities include:

• Mentoring and managing junior ecologists.
• Client and project management.
• Undertaking ecological surveys and assessments, including UKHab and protected species surveys, ecological impact assessments, etc.
• Providing ecological advice and support to clients and internal teams.
• Managing and delivering ecological projects, including producing technical reports and ecological management plans.
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in an environmental consultancy.
• An excellent understanding of ornithology.
• The ability to plan and deliver basic habitat and protected species surveys/reports (e.g., PEA, UK Habs, BNG assessments, bats, badger, water vole, etc.).
• Full UK driving license and use of a car.
• Good communication skills, both internally and with clients.
• Good report writing skills.
• Experience preparing fee proposals.
• Ability to manage and analyze data.
