Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join its Cardiff team. This is a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy delivering ecological services across a broad range of sectors.

You will lead surveys, manage fieldwork and reporting, and mentor junior staff while working in a flexible, hybrid environment across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a relevant ecology degree, consultancy experience, and membership of CIEEM, with a full UK driving licence and willingness to

Responsibilities

• Undertake and manage ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species assessments.
• Lead fieldwork and reporting for projects, delivering on time and to a high standard.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to provide clear ecological advice.
• Prepare technical reports, including EcIA, HRA, and management plans.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge-sharing and CPD.
