Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist who is enthusiastic, curious, and ready for a new challenge. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site and flexible start and finish times.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage small ecology projects, liaising with project managers and clients to deliver ecological requirements within multidisciplinary projects.
  2. Conduct desk studies, preliminary ecological appraisals, habitat surveys, and assess habitats for protected species.
  3. Analyze, interpret, and present ecological data.
  4. Write technical reports, including ecological appraisals, impact assessments, and license applications.
  5. Serve as an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience managing small ecology projects from start to completion.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK survey methodologies and legislation.
  • Experience with ecological surveys, PEA, and habitat assessments.
  • Proven report writing skills for ecological assessments and licenses.
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental or Earth Sciences, or related field.
  • CIEEM membership and protected species licenses are desirable.
  • ECoW experience and a full driving license are required.
  • Flexible approach to work, including occasional longer hours and travel.
