Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Senior Ecological Consultant to join the East Anglia team in Ipswich, operating on a hybrid basis. The role involves leading ecological projects across the UK, delivering high-quality reports such as EcIA, HRA, and EPSL, while managing budgets and client relationships.

The ideal candidate holds a ecology-related degree, has UK consultancy experience, and is familiar with wildlife legislation and survey methodologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology or related environmental discipline.
• Strong consultancy experience within the UK ecology sector.
• Excellent knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and survey methodologies.
• Experience producing EcIAs, HRAs, and protected species licence applications.
• Protected species licences are highly desirable.
• Full CIEEM membership.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ecological projects from tender through to completion.
• Produce high-quality technical reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), HRAs, and EPSL applications.
• Manage project budgets, programmes, and client relationships.
• Lead field surveys and provide technical guidance to junior ecologists.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Support business development through tender preparation and client engagement.
• Work towards or undertake line management responsibilities.
