Job summary

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking an experienced Band 7 Echocardiographer to join our renowned Echo service. You will independently perform and interpret advanced echocardiography, including 3D and GLS, contributing to high‑quality reports in line with BSE standards and Trust protocols.

The role offers teaching and supervision of junior staff, with opportunities for involvement in service development and research.

Qualifications

• BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
• Adult TTE BSE/equivalent accreditation.
• Intermediate Life Support (ILS).
• Highly developed IT skills.
• HCPC accredited/registered.
• Clinical assessment Level 7 Module.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS).

Responsibilities

• Act as specialist Echocardiographer within MDT to deliver patient-centred care.
• Independently perform and interpret broad diagnostic echo studies, including 3D/GLS.
• Maintain knowledge of national/international guidelines for excellence.
• Manage and prioritise workload to meet service demands.
• Participate in appraisal, performance review and service development.
• Monitor echocardiography equipment and consumables; escalate issues.
• Promote multidisciplinary approach and drive service improvement.
