Job summary

Astute's Power Team is seeking an EC&I Engineer for its Chorley site on a 12-month inside IR35 contract. You will produce CE&I designs, manage safety documentation, and coordinate with suppliers and commissioning teams for a high-profile Nuclear project in Chorley.

The role requires strong EC&I design and control systems experience, knowledge of standards, and the ability to work in a regulated nuclear environment with hybrid office presence.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent (essential).
• Broad engineering experience in design and manufacturing (essential).
• Design of electrical systems and control systems (essential).

Responsibilities

• Produce CE&I design concepts including SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules and layout drawings.
• Develop designs that conform to British/European standards and client requirements.
• Produce and maintain LTQR / Technical Files in accordance with QMS.
• Ensure designs address operability, maintainability and safety.
• Deliver designs in line with project programmes and budgets.
• Produce design justification reports mitigating identified risks.
• Develop functional safety and controls documentation (FDS, SIDD, FS Plans).
• Produce technical specs, drawings and works instructions for manufacturing.
• Check in-house and subcontract drawings; attend FAT/SAT activities.
• Manage subcontract suppliers and commissioning activities.
