Job description

Scope

The candidate will be responsible to lead the CE&I electrical systems design for projects in the FEED pipeline. The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, and potentially into detail design, and assistance during installation and commissioning borne design queries. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of CE&I engineering. The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery with experience of optioneering, front‑end design and detail design.

Specific responsibilities are:

• Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of the design aspects of the project.

• Work with a small integrated design team in the delivery of design packages against milestones.

• Contribute to the production of multi‑discipline design documentation such as, but not limited to: Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, Design Justification Report.

• Determine project requirements independently.

• Produce, review and check design documents and CE&I deliverables from other CE&I engineers/designers.

• Produce reports and documentation to comply with CDM.

• Interface with the Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), and other project functions, working closely throughout project phases.

• Estimate hours for scope changes or additional work and outline supporting schedules for the discipline.

• Support and contribute to the delivery of design reviews.

Requirements

• Must have significant demonstrable experience in CE&I project delivery.

• Experience delivering CE&I design packages—translating user requirements and technical specifications into fully engineered, safe and legal design solutions.

• Experience with space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management and cable calculations.

• Ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team and individually, within sometimes restrictive time constraints.

• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels.

• Process instrumentation design expertise.

• Electrical power and services design at LV.

• Knowledge of CE&I functional safety systems and application of Sellafield ES 2190.

• Radiometric instruments e.g. gamma monitors.

• Understanding and application of the required deliverables and design process for each of the CE&I areas, particularly in front‑end scoping and early delivery strategy.

• Delivery within the SL Management System.

• Estimate and schedule production and progress reporting.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
