Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a full-time Early Years Practitioner (Higher Level) for the busy Free Spirits Nursery located at The Freeman Hospital. You will plan and deliver EYFS learning activities and support 0–5s under the guidance of the Lead Early Years Practitioner.

Essentially you will hold NVQ Level 3 in childcare, have solid EYFS knowledge, and be willing to work 37 hours 30 minutes per week; experience with babies is desirable.

Qualifications

• A minimum of NVQ level 3 in childcare or an equivalent in childcare is essential for this role. Please ensure that your qualification is in childcare before you apply.

Responsibilities

• To care and supervise children aged 0-5 years under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner and the Senior Staff/Nursery Managers.
• To implement a structured and stimulating environment through play, under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner, as a requirement of OFSTED.
• To supervise and assist students whilst on placement.
• To settle in new children, working closely with parents/carers under the direction of the Lead Early Years Practitioner.
