Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Gloucester invites a skilled DSP Engineer to join our R&D team. You will work on software-defined radio systems and payload development for defence and intelligence programmes, applying DSP techniques to reverse engineer existing systems and create new algorithms.

You will contribute to cutting-edge projects, using AI/ML tools and hybrid cloud environments to stay ahead of challenges while collaborating in agile teams across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Evidence of DSP algorithm or payload development experience.
• Experience with RF communications systems and SDR architectures.
• Reverse engineering RF systems and signal analysis.
• Knowledge of commercial and military communications stacks and modem development.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering of RF systems and waveforms for improvements.
• Develop and optimise SDR solutions using DSP techniques for electronic warfare and signals intelligence.
• Design and develop new DSP algorithms to enhance SDR performance.
• Develop payloads for advanced communications systems and ensure compatibility with existing technologies.
• Validate system performance through lab testing, experiments and field trials.
• Leverage AI/ML tools and hybrid cloud compute to deliver innovative results.
• Collaborate using Agile methods and clear communication to deliver timely solutions.
