Lockheed Martin in Gloucester is seeking an experienced OpenCPI Lead Software Engineer to join our defence and RF systems team. You will guide the design, development, and deployment of OpenCPI-based SDR solutions on mission-critical programmes.

You'll lead cross-functional efforts, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical standards while leveraging hybrid working options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior/lead developer using the OpenCPI framework, including the development of OSPs, components, applications and tests.
• Strong background in RF communications and software-defined radio technologies & architectures.
• Expertise in digital signal processing, algorithm or payload development, and embedded system design.

Responsibilities

• OpenCPI Framework Utilization – Lead the development and integration of SDR systems using OpenCPI framework.
• System Design & Integration – Be SME within cross-functional team designing and integrating RF communication systems.
• Test & Measurement – Implement test-driven development strategies and verify systems using OpenCPI.
• Technical Leadership – Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and evolve technical standards.
• Consultation – Interact daily with other teams and stakeholders for overall success.
• Innovation – Push OpenCPI development with AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud compute environments.
• Collaboration & Reporting – Work with engineering and customer teams, report on performance and issues.
