Job summary

The Virginia Department of Health seeks a District IT Analyst Sr. to provide advanced technical support, application administration, data analysis, and information systems management for district operations.

The role coordinates with OIM and VITA/NG, maintains key systems, and serves as Security Officer, Webmaster, and GIS Coordinator. Strong SQL/Oracle and Windows Server expertise are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local government health department policies.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, databases, MS Access, SQL query language and data entry into state software programs.
• Knowledge in information systems management, emphasis in Windows Servers, LAN, Oracle RDBMS, Windows OS and client/server TCP/IP."
• Ability to analyze delivery systems and evaluate impacts of new information system technology; coordinate and implement new data collection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and application administration for district operations.
• Serve as liaison with OIM and VITA/NG to coordinate technical support and ensure effective IT operations.
• Maintain file server and associated permissions; administer systems such as HAN, TRAIN, Web Vision, VENIS, WIC Net, Availity, Medicaid and Medicare.
• Conduct data analytics utilizing Oracle/SQL+ to write scripts/queries for reporting from internal databases or Web Vision.
• Provide system training to staff and support staff in data-driven decision making.
