Spectrum IT Recruitment in Southampton is seeking a Senior Developer (Node.js / TypeScript) to join a highly available integration platform connecting eCommerce with warehouse operations. The role is hybrid with 2 office days (Tuesday and Thursday) and offers up to £85,000.

You will spend around 75% on backend development using Node.js and TypeScript, with some React frontend work, owning features from design to production. The team values autonomy and strong engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing distributed systems with APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with React and Go is desirable.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools.
• Ownership and collaboration mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate a highly available integration platform.
• Own features from design to deployment.
• Work primarily backend 75% with Node.js/TypeScript, plus React frontend.
• Improve reliability, monitoring and recovery across distributed systems.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions.
