Job summary

National Energy System Operator Limited (NESO) is seeking a Balancing & Dispatch Senior Strategy Analyst to lead and coordinate dispatch reform across market design, implementation planning and digital delivery. Hybrid work from Wokingham or Warwick is available, supporting flexible arrangements.

You will shape reform options, assess risks, and deliver Target Operating Models while working with DESNZ, Ofgem and industry participants.

Qualifications

• Expert understanding of GB electricity market arrangements and reform challenges.
• Experience leading complex policy, market-design or regulatory initiatives.
• Ability to influence senior leaders, regulators and industry stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evaluation of dispatch reform options.
• Shape future dispatch arrangements by translating policy objectives into market, operational and system design solutions.
• Develop Target Operating Models, implementation strategies and transition arrangements.
• Provide strategic direction on reform design and governance considerations.
• Lead engagement with DESNZ, Ofgem and senior government stakeholders.
• Represent NESO at industry forums and coordinate stakeholder alignment.
