Laing O'Rourke's Birmingham project offices are seeking a Digital Engineer to drive the Digital Engineering strategy across bids and projects. You will create data-driven solutions enhancing decision making, streamlining processes and unlocking project data value.
Reporting to the Lead Digital Engineer, you will implement BIM standards, develop Power BI insights and support upskilling site teams to adopt digital tools. Multidisciplinary collaboration and a proactive mindset are essential.
Location: Project office in Birmingham, site office in 2027 will be Chelmsford/Dartford, Head office
Are you a talented Digital Engineer with experience in project Digital Engineering strategies and who has contributed to the consistent application of Digital Engineering processes, standards and best practices across bids and projects?
Join our Digital Team supporting the Great Grid Partnership, a major UK infrastructure programme helping deliver the Great Grid Upgrade. In this role, you'll be the go-to digital specialist, creating data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, streamline processes, and unlock the value of project data.
The role sits within our Power Sector portfolio ( ATNC: Norwich to Tilbury Enabling Works & EACN Sub), supporting the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) for National Grid, a critical national infrastructure programme delivering the UK's Great Grid Upgrade. Along with our Laing O'Rourke delivery teams, you will work closely withour delivery partnersand National Grid stakeholders to support
The successful delivery of complex energy projects through the intelligent use of data and digital tools. You will play a key role in advancing digital maturity across the programme,
supporting consistent data capture, developing and maintaining Power BI insights aligned to the Build Twin, automating processes, and upskilling site teams to help drive adoption.
Reporting to theLead Digital Engineer, you'll provide technical expertise and practical support to project teams, ensuring Digital Engineering processes and BIM standards are successfully implemented throughout project delivery.
You'll contribute to the continuous improvement of Digital Engineering capability across the business while supporting the adoption of innovative digital solutions that improve project outcomes.
You'll be an experienced Digital Engineering professional with a passion for digital innovation within the construction or infrastructure sector. You'll be confident working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and have a strong understanding of BIM processes, Digital Engineering standards and project delivery.
