Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Radiographers to join our Plain Film imaging team, rotating through a range of specialties and satellite spoke sites in Reading, Henley and Bracknell. You will work across emergency, orthopaedics, pain and endoscopy, outpatients, theatres and mobile units, contributing to a seven-day service and on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through the Plain Film department across emergency, orthopaedics, pain and endoscopy, outpatients, mobiles, theatres, and spoke sites.
• Work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams; mentor radiography students and apprentices.
• Participate in the out-of-hours rota as part of seven-day service delivery (evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays).
• Senior Radiographers may mentor juniors and may rotate to CT/Interventional Radiology if service needs arise.

Job description

We are excited to recruit Radiographers to join our Plain Film imaging team. In this role, Radiographers will be working throughout the Plain Film department rotating through a range of specialties including the emergency department, orthopaedics, pain and endoscopy unit, outpatients and mobiles, surgical theatres, and also our spoke sites in Henley and Bracknell.

• HCPC registration
• Minimum of 18 months' post qualification clinical experience and demonstrable knowledge at interview.
• Prior NHS experience either through clinical placement training or previous employment
• Face-to-face interviews will be held in Reading. We are unable to offer remote interviews., Applicants must demonstrate clinical skills competence and robust knowledge of radiographic anatomy and relevant pathology, alongside excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. They must be able to work both autonomously and within multi-disciplinary teams, show flexibility to work at satellite spoke sites, actively mentor radiography students and apprentices, and participate in the out-of-hours rota as part of our seven-day service delivery which includes evening, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

Senior Radiographers additionally must demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions, assess clinical situations and act appropriately, display leadership behaviours, and provide mentorship to junior Radiographers. This is a Plain Film rolewithout CT rotation. However if a future service need arises there may be an opportunity to rotate through CT or Interventional Radiology. Applicants must hold HCPC registration and have prior NHS experience either through clinical placement training or previous employment. Applicants must have a minimum of 18 months' post qualification clinical experience.
