Job summary

Oxford Community Diagnostic Centre is seeking a Senior Radiographer to join our patient-focused team. You will lead radiographic exams, support junior colleagues, and contribute to high-quality diagnostic imaging and safe patient journeys.

Based at our Oxford site, you will collaborate with clinical leads, uphold CPD standards, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliant, efficient workflows.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or international equivalent).
  • HCPC registration is required.
  • Professional indemnity insurance (Society of Radiographers membership or independently obtained).
  • Minimum 18 months post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Up-to-date CPD portfolio.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and justify radiographic examinations in line with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging to support diagnosis and management.
  • Manage own patient workload with accurate records on IT systems.
  • Operate X-ray equipment safely and in line with procedures.
  • Contribute to QA, governance, audits and departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior team members and share best practice.
  • Support delegated tasks from the Plain Film Lead (QC, audits, vetting, governance).
  • Maintain compliance with mandatory training and organisational policies.
  • Keep up to date with legislation including IRR and IR(ME)R.
  • Participate in CPD, research and audit projects.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and patient-focusedSenior Radiographerto join our growing team at the Oxford Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated radiographer who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and high-quality diagnostic imaging services. You will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey while helping to maintain an efficient, safe, and welcoming clinical environment.

As a senior member of the team, you'll provide guidance and support to junior colleagues, demonstrate leadership across the CDC, and work closely with clinical leads to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform and justify radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and professional standards.
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to support patient diagnosis and management.
  • Manage your own patient workload efficiently while maintaining accurate records on relevant IT systems.
  • Operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively, ensuring compliance with all clinical procedures.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, governance, audit, and departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Take responsibility for delegated tasks from the Plain Film Lead, including:

What We're Looking For
Essential

- BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or international equivalent)
