Job summary

Tesco Mobile is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join the DevSecOps Squad, shaping platform strategy while delivering hands-on cloud engineering across AWS, Azure and private clouds. You will mentor teammates and drive secure, automated, observable cloud platforms that support Tesco’s developer ecosystem.

You will collaborate with cyber security, engineering, architecture and product teams in an agile environment, promoting self-service tooling, standardisation and reduced technical debt while

Qualifications

• Strong experience in cloud platform engineering (AWS and/or Azure).
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform).
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure platform design.
• Experience with automation, observability and SRE practices.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in agile engineering environments.
• Proactive continuous improvement mindset and reducing technical debt.
• Experience supporting developer tooling and engineering platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership within the DevSecOps squad.
• Maintain cloud platforms for reliability, security and recoverability.
• Influence system design decisions and review proposals.
• Drive continuous improvements in DevSecOps processes and tooling.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security and other stakeholders to implement security enhancements.
• Champion platform automation, IaC, observability and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, security specialists and product teams.
• Promote self-service capabilities and automation solutions.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
• Mentor and support colleagues.
• Support and administer cloud platforms and central developer tooling (GitHub, Splunk).
