Job summary

Nicoll Curtin is seeking a senior Director/DevSecOps Architect in London with hybrid work, 3 days on-site. You will define the target-state architecture for CI/CD, DevSecOps, test automation and security automation across the engineering estate, guiding an enterprise-scale transformation.

You will lead the convergence of toolchains, own the test automation strategy across all testing levels and embed security controls into delivery pipelines, including AI-assisted engineering and governance for

Qualifications

• Significant experience architecting CI/CD and DevSecOps platforms at enterprise scale.
• Proven delivery of test automation strategies improving quality or release frequency.
• Strong software engineering background across development, architecture and platform teams.
• Deep knowledge of modern testing tools and security integration in CI/CD.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab or Jenkins and container tech.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state CI/CD and DevSecOps architecture including release and rollback.
• Converge fragmented toolchains onto a common platform and modernise legacy pipelines.
• Own the test automation strategy across unit, integration, contract and end-to-end tests.
• Define test data management, coverage and quality gates with automated release decisions.
• Drive shift-left testing, service virtualisation and greater automation in complex environments.
• Embed automated security controls (SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets management) into delivery.
• Establish policy-as-code, software supply chain security and auditability.
• Define architecture guardrails for AI-assisted software engineering and testing.
• Support lifecycle governance for production AI/ML and LLM systems.
