Job summary

OAG is seeking a remote Platform Engineer to help build, deploy and support services across a multi‑cloud environment (AWS/Azure). You will bring SRE and IaC practices into day-to-day operations to improve observability and reliability while collaborating across teams in the UK.

You will work with GitOps pipelines, Terraform/OpenTofu, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes to keep systems secure and fast, with on‑call support and opportunities to apply AI tooling to delivery and support.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing CI/CD and version-control practices using GitHub Actions.
• Practical knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud, networking, containers and Kubernetes.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform/OpenTofu, Crossplane).
• Practical knowledge of at least one modern, vendor‑neutral observability tool (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Security‑minded, with some exposure to policy-as-code and zero‑trust tooling (e.g. OPA/Conftest, Kyverno, Cilium, SPIFFE/SPIRE) or similar.
• Comfortable scripting in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Curiosity about applying AI tooling (e.g. AI coding assistants, AI-assisted testing or AI-assisted incident response) to speed up delivery and support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and a quality‑first mindset.
• Clear communicator and effective team player.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate services across our multi-cloud environment.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure with Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Build production environments on Kubernetes and maintain high availability.
• Apply SRE and IaC practices to improve observability and efficiency.
• Enforce security guardrails with policy-as-code tools.
• Support identity, audit and policy models for data platforms.
• Participate in on‑call support and incident response.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate delivery and support.
