Job summary

The London Metal Exchange Limited in London is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to scale our internal tooling and delivery pipelines. You will design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure, improve developer productivity, and partner with development and IT operations to standardise processes in a regulated, production environment.

You will lead Kubernetes clusters, build CI/CD pipelines with Ansible, Bitbucket, GitLab, Terraform and Helm, and implement IaC, monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or closely related field
• Advantageous: Certifications or substantial hands-on experience with modern Development pipeline tools
• Desirable: Familiarity with financial services regulatory frameworks and data governance

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across on-prem environments
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and deployment
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Bamboo, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, or similar tools
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across the stack
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth application delivery and operations
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed in infrastructure and deployment processes
• Lead incident analysis and root cause investigations for data-related issues, implementing improvements to enhance system stability and performance
• Act as liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of status, risks, and requirements
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation accessible to stakeholders
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
