Job summary

Apple in Edinburgh is seeking a DevOps Engineer to own and evolve infrastructure across the EMEIA region. This role balances maintaining VM-based systems with leading a greenfield move to a managed environment built around Kubernetes and EKS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineer.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: deploy, configure, and operate workloads.
• Strong use of IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and build out a new managed container environment, replacing VM-based infra.
• Contribute to environment selection: weigh Kube vs AWS@Apple trade-offs.
• Migrate existing VM workloads to the new platform in a controlled, sequenced manner.
• Maintain standard deployment workflow: build, containerise, publish, connect.
