Job summary

Netcompany is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer (Java) in London, UK. The role focuses on implementing and supporting improvements, accelerating delivery times, and unifying customer-focused DevOps practices across development, QA, IT Operations and Infosec.

You will leverage AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm to automate and scale environments. Travel willingness and UK work rights are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Experience with monitoring tools for reliability and performance.
• Experience with AWS Cloud and Jenkins pipelines.
• Java and Maven experience for builds.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support improvements, efficiency and software quality.
• Facilitate DevOps in a multi-disciplinary team across Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD.
• Translate business requirements into technical implementations for DevOps.
• Negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure service effectiveness.

Job description

Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

• Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
• Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
• Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
• Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years as a DevOps Engineer
• Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
• Practical experience using Terraform(IaC), Kubernetes and Helm
• Experienced with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture and integration
• Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Practical experience using AWS Cloud
• CI/CD: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
• Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase).
• Scripting: Ability to write automation scripts (e.g., Python)
• GitOps: Understanding of GitOps principles.
• Java & Maven: Must have experience with Java programming and Maven for builds
• Core Principles: A mindset focused on automation, proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and defining best practices.
• Must have willingness to travel
• Must have the right to work in the UK
• Must be able to attain a UK Security Clearance
