Job summary

_Nology is seeking a DevOps Engineer / Senior DevOps Engineer in Newcastle. The role involves building and improving environments, tooling, and automated processes to support secure software delivery. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to go permanent.

You will work three days on-site with two days remote, contribute to CI/CD, IaC, and cloud workloads, and provide technical leadership at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms and services.
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Exposure to configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift or similar container technologies.
• Scripting ability in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, PowerShell, Bash or similar.

Responsibilities

• Deliver environments and tooling to support development and testing.
• Configure and maintain CI/CD and quality tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Automate infrastructure and delivery processes using IaC and scripting.
• Support cloud platforms, container workloads and orchestration technologies.
• Improve platform reliability, security, observability and delivery performance.
• At senior level, provide technical leadership and guide delivery teams.
