Job summary

Nology is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 12 Month FTC conversion to permanent role in Newcastle. The position requires on-site work three days per week and relocation support up to £1,500. There are two salary bands depending on experience, with 23 days holiday and a company pension.

Eligibility for SC is needed. The role focuses on designing, automating and supporting cloud-native platforms and delivery pipelines, with strong emphasis on CI/CD, IaC, containers and automation.

Qualifications

• Experience across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on CI/CD tooling with GitLab/Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps.
• Strong IaC skills using Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
• Experience with configuration management and container tooling.
• Scripting in Python/Node/PowerShell and Linux/Windows admin.

Responsibilities

• Work within DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to provision and optimise environments.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and release.
• Configure tooling including GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Nexus and testing platforms.
• Develop automation to improve deployment reliability and velocity.
• Manage cloud-native infrastructure with IaC principles and tooling.
• Automate integration via APIs, event-driven and serverless approaches.
• Support environment management, release management and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to support end-to-end delivery.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability for operational excellence.
